Chess Industries Acquires JV Engineering, Perth

Chess Industries Ltd has recently expanded its engineering offering across Australia, with the acquisition of JV Engineering Pty Ltd based in Perth. The deal forms part of Chess Industries’ strategy for growing their engineering division Chess Engineering Pty Ltd and strengthens the national capabilities of both businesses to provide a complete service offering to customers. JV Engineering has been operating successfully for over 14 years as a locally owned Western Australian company, gradually building the business to its present size of over 60 personnel, with a reputation for providing high quality workmanship and services in all aspects of steel fabrication and construction.

“Chess Industries Ltd has recently expanded its engineering offering across Australia, with the acquisition of JV Engineering Pty Ltd based in Perth.”

Chess Industries Chief Executive Officer, Steve Facer said “the combination of Chess Engineering and JV Engineering will provide us with a strong geographical and market spread in the steel fabrication, precision machining and site installation sectors. There will also be opportunities to share prospects to deliver the best result for our clients. Historically Chess has specialised in rail, infrastructure and light engineering. With the addition of JV Engineering, the business is now a competitor in the heavy engineering sector with a well established presence in the mining, oil and gas sectors. The new combination effectively doubles the size of the Chess Group, creating a leading player in engineering services that specialise in fabrication, machining and installation. Together we will be able to deliver technical and project management services from a broader platform thereby serving more clients across Australia.”
